Meet Nikita Ray, a Trauma-Informed Doula
Full-spectrum support based in Milton, Ontario and serving families across the GTA

Personal Introduction
Hi, I'm Nikita and I'm the doula behind Solace Support. I've lived my entire life in the Greater Toronto Area and currently reside in the charming little city of Milton. My calling to Doula work started in 2018 when I realized how deeply this path speaks to my nurturing nature and desire to support others through life's most powerful transitions. My passion for this work has only continued to grow. Thus began a passionate career rooted in the firm belief that everyone has the right to make informed decisions about what is right for them.
I am a Cornerstone-trained doula, currently pursuing a degree in Women and Gender Studies. My education has deepened my understanding of the interconnected issues in reproductive justice and has supported my trauma-informed practice. My experience includes working with Birth Mark Support, and I have supported more than 90 diverse families across the GTA during labour, birth, and the postpartum period.
My priority has always been empowerment through education. The aim is to build a relationship founded on trust and safety before we embark on your birth journey together. Therefore, our sessions will focus on exploring your options throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postpartum period, so that you are equipped with the information needed to make informed decisions.
I strive to be a calming presence and offer a nurturing approach throughout my time with you. Above all, I am grateful to the families who invite me to be a part of one of life's most significant milestones.
Philosophy and Approach
I offer an approach to birth and postpartum that is rooted in education and justice. I prioritize providing my clients with evidence-based knowledge so they are set up to advocate for informed consent and to make autonomous decisions.
My approach is evidence-based and trauma-informed. I provide support rooted in research and best practices while remaining sensitive to the emotional and psychological impacts of past or current trauma.
In practice, that means:
- Building trust and emotional safety before your birth journey begins
- Centring your autonomy, informed consent, choices, and preferences
- Explaining options clearly so you can make informed decisions without judgment
- Tailoring physical and emotional support to your needs and comfort
- Offering a calm, compassionate presence through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum
